Google benchmarking

Google Analytics, which is the service that EasyBib uses to track things like total visitors, page views, and all the other things that help us get an idea about how our site is performing, recently launched a service called “Benchmarks.”

Benchmarks is a way for sites to submit their site’s statistics and get an idea of how their site performs against other sites of similar size / demographic makeup.  Google takes this data, anonymizes it, aggregates it, and gives it back to you.

So by doing this, we’re able to see how visitors interact with our site vs an overall ‘group’ of other sites.

We subscribed yesterday. I’ll post a bit about our own performance in a sec.
